We are excited to share The Ultimate Italia group experience with you! Here’s a little background!
We have been hosting group curated experiences around the world since 2018 (long before we moved to Italy!)
We love creating experiences that expand you! Our trips aren’t “cookie-cutter”, giant tour bus kind of trips… they’re intimate, intentionally curated and genuinely bucket-list-worthy.
The Ultimate Italia
After years of traveling the world, our friends began to ask if they could “join us” on our next trip. One year, we had TEN friends wanting to travel with us, so that gave us an idea.
What if we curated an immersive, bucket-list 5-day experience that allows people to just show up, meet great like-minded new friends, and experience a place in an immersive and exciting way?
A decade later, we have now hosted dozens of international travel events in North America, Greece, France and, of course, Italy.
Important note: we do NOT use a “group tour travel service” to produce a run-of-the-mill tour. We craft everything with the guidance of our Italian travel expert, Greta, whom we’ve worked with since the beginning. She handles all of the details of booking and organizing and joins us on our trips to provide a local Italian perspective.
ULTIMATE ITALIA TRIP DETAILS
Details:
- The Ultimate Italia is a luxury group travel experience focused on immersive experiences showcasing each location.
- Group size: 20 max
- Age: 18+ Only
We offer 2 packages:
1. Individuals Package: traveling solo
2. Couples/Shared Package: 2 people traveling together
- Individuals and Couples welcome (we always have a mix of both!)
- We do not assign roommates, individuals who register alone will always have their own room.
- Couples package can be used for spouses, friends, family or anyone that wants to share a room.
Trip Cost:
- Trip cost varies based on number of days (usually 5-6 nights), location and season. The pricing will be released when the trip is open for registration.
Activity Level:
- These are active trips that involve lots of walking on cobblestone, stairs, hills, in some cases eBike riding.
Most importantly… YOU MUST BE FUN (we like to laugh and have a good time!)
Every package include:
- Luxury boutique hotel accommodations with great location
- Daily breakfast at the hotel
- 3 group lunches, including wine, beer or non-alcoholic drinks
- 3 group dinners, including wine, beer or non-alcoholic drinks
- Daily exclusive, curated bucket list experiences by Rob & Kim – these will vary based on the destination and season of travel.
- All fees/tips for excursions including transportation.
- Free time built into your schedule to rest, explore, shop & enjoy on your own
- Pre-trip packing tips and group Zoom session and What’s App Group

HOW REGISTRATION WORKS
Our trips often sell out withing days (or hours) of registration opening. This is not a sales tactic, it’s the reality 😉
THE PROCESS
STEP 1: GET ON OUR EMAIL LIST
We send an email out to our Ultimate Italia email list with the trip dates and details roughly 10-12 months before the trip date.
STEP 2: JOIN OUR LIVE SESSION
We host a live-virtual info session to go over the trip, details and pricing.
** If you can’t make the live session, it’s ok, we will send the email with registration details at the same time as we share it live.
STEP 3: SIGN UP
We open registration LIVE during the info-session and by email.
Our trips are limited to 20 people max, once they sell out, it’s gone.
If the trip does not sell out immediately during the live-info session, we will send out the recording.

Travel Insurance & Refund Policy
REFUND WINDOW
Trips booked 120+ days prior to departure: You may cancel within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.
Refund requests must be submitted in writing to rk@robertmurgatroyd.com
If you register 90 days or fewer prior to departure, no refund window applies
• 90+ days prior to departure: Cancellation fee equal to first payment; remainder issued as credit
• 60–89 days prior: 50% of total trip price retained; remainder issued as credit
• 30–59 days prior: 75% of total trip price retained; remainder issued as credit
• Less than 30 days prior: 100% of total trip price retained; no credit
Cancellation fees reflect anticipated losses, vendor commitments, and the decreasing likelihood of reselling the reserved space.
Amounts retained beyond the non-refundable deposit may be issued as a future trip credit valid for 24 months from the original departure date.
Credits are non-transferable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
PAYMENTS & REFUNDS
All payments are processed in euros.
Any refund will be issued in euros. Your financial institution determines the applicable exchange rate.
NO-SHOW POLICY
We are not responsible for missed or delayed flights or travel disruptions outside our control. No refunds or credits will be provided for late arrival, early departure, or no-shows.
Passport & Entry Requirements
There is no visa required for U.S. or Canadian citizens.
In order to enter Italy, U.S. and Canadian citizens need a valid passport with an expiration date extending at least six months beyond the date of reentry.
We recommend having at least one blank passport page for entry stamps.
If you are not a U.S. or Canadian citizen, you must contact your destination country’s consulate for your specific entry requirements.
Entry/Exit System (EES)
Italy is part of the Schengen area and uses the new EES in most major airports. Your facial image and fingerprints will be recorded upon entry, but no action is needed from you beforehand.
ETIAS UPDATE
ETIAS travel authorization is an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals traveling to any of these 30 European countries. It is linked to a traveller’s passport. It is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you need to get a new ETIAS travel authorization.
It is currently not open for application, we will keep you updated.
Physical Activity
Full disclosure – this will be an active trip!
Be prepared for cobblestone and lots of stairs.
If you have injuries that will prevent you from fully participating, please let us know in advance and we will accomodate as best as possible.
Food & Drink Allergies, Preferences
Don’t drink alcohol? Need a gluten, vegan or vegetarian free menu? Or have other allergies or dietrary restrictions?
No problem!
We will send you a survey following your registration that will allow you to give us all the details so we can plan ahead!
Booking Additional Hotel Nights
Our local travel coordinator will be able to assist in booking additional nights in our host hotels (or other properties) either before or after your trip.
Please request additional hotel nights as soon as possible, we can only guarentee the availability for the days of our experience and cannot guarentee availability pre/post.
Who operates and organizes the travel experiences?
We are not a travel agency or tour operator. Our experiences are curated and hosted by our team, while all travel services, including accommodations, transportation, guides, and excursions, are arranged and operated by our licensed travel partner, Amaluci. Amaluci is fully authorized and responsible for the organization and delivery of all travel components in accordance with Italian regulations.
